Samples that get uploaded to One Codex automatically get classified using the One Codex Database. If we detect that your samples are amplicon-type sequencing (such as 16S, 18S, ITS), then we will also launch the Targeted Loci database on your samples. You may also launch additional analyses on your samples. You need an easy way to switch between the results of various analyses that have been run on a sample. Here, we'll walk you through the latest updates of our analysis dropdown menu!

Where To Find The Analyses

On your home/samples page, clicking on "View Results" for a sample will bring you to the results page for the primary analysis that was run on that sample.

The "primary analysis" is the analysis that has the highest precedence. For instance, the Targeted Loci Database will be considered the primary analysis over the One Codex Database.

If you have run a Twist Report or ATCC Standards Analysis, these will take precedence over classification workflows (i.e. One Codex Database, or Targeted Loci Database), and will therefore be the primary analyses displayed when you click to view the results of a sample.

To switch to other analyses that have been run on your sample, click the name of the current workflow at the top-right of the results page, to expand a drop-down menu of all of the available analyses for that sample.

The Dropdown Menu

The screenshot below includes an example of a workflow dropdown menu for a sample that has had many workflows run for it. We'll walk you through the details below!

The workflow result that is currently being displayed is marked with a checkmark on the right-hand side of the menu list. Horizontal dividers separate various One Codex workflows from workflows you or your organization have written. The status of a workflow run is displayed if it is still running (Pending) or if an error has occurred.

Workflows written by you or your organization can be run multiple times with different arguments. (Note that you cannot run a published workflow multiple times on a sample with the same parameters). So we've added a few tweaks to be able to distinguish between different runs using the same workflow.

  • We now display the date that the workflow was launched, to help you find recent workflow runs more easily.

  • You will also notice arrows to the right of some workflows. Clicking the arrow will expand details for the workflow. This displays any non-default arguments that were set for this particular workflow run. This should help you to distinguish between various runs of the same workflow on a sample.

  1. You cannot run a published workflow multiple times on a sample with the same parameters.

  2. Analyses using draft workflows will not show in the analysis dropdown menu.

Lastly, at the bottom, you will see an option to "Run Workflow". Clicking this will take you to the Run Workflows page, with the sample pre-selected and ready for you to choose which workflow you wish to run on it.
